Aachen, also called Baths of Aachen, is a spa town that is located in the government district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany). It is the city more to the west of Germany, it is located along the borders with the Netherlands and Belgium. It was the favorite city as residence of Emperor Charlemagne and where the Roman soldiers from the first century BC worshiped hot springs. Later it was the place of coronation of German kings. The city currently has about 250,000 inhabitants and is a very active place. The most visited part of the city is its historic center where art and culture lover will enjoy visitn places like the Aachen Cathedral, which was built in the late eighth century and is consider the oldest in the Northern Europe. It was also one of the first 12 sites included in the list of World Heritage of Unesco. The city is still famous for its hot springs, thirty springs generate high temperature water. It is certainly an ideal place to visit and to relax with friends or family.
